Liquid Hydrocarbon Resins

Liquid hydrocarbon resins are 100% nonvolatile, light colored reactive diluents for epoxy and other aromatic resin systems.  Other benefits include increased pigment and filler wetting and low migration rate.  Liquid hydrocarbon resins are considered essentially inert in catalytic effect at ambient temperatures.

List of Liquid Hydrocarbon Resins

Liquid hydrocarbon resins are available in a wide range of viscosity (150 to 2,400 cps) suited to application needs.  The liquid hydrocarbon resins are soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents, aromatic hydrocarbon solvents, chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents, lower alcohols (C-6 or less), ketones, esters and selected glycol ethers.
Some benefits include: Maintain high pigmentation levels with addition of 5 to 15 % liquid hydrocarbon resin, cost modifier and with thick ‘high build’ epoxy coating systems, improvement of moisture resistance in wire enamels, allows for higher filler-extender loading,  improves flexibility and regulation (moderation) of pot life, natural light color provides for a broader spectrum of applications, very low vapor pressure (non-volatile), improved leveling and open time with heavily filler extended epoxy floor coating formulations, rapid viscosity reduction with primer coating, superior non-migrating plasticizer for rubber tile adhesives, and tackifier for polysulfide sealants (5pphr).
